Iccl Sports-About Us
The Inner City Catholic League (ICCL) is a high school athletic conference located in South Bend, Indiana. The league is made up of eight Catholic high schools from the city of South Bend and its surrounding suburbs.
The ICCL was founded in 1972 as a way to give inner city Catholic high school students an opportunity to participate in competitive sports. The league was originally made up of four schools: Holy Cross High School, Marian High School, Notre Dame High School, and St. Joseph’s High School.
In 1976, the ICCL expanded to include two more schools: Elkhart Memorial High School and Riley High School. And in 1980, the league added its eighth and final member school: Washington High School.
Today, the ICCL is one of the most competitive high school athletic conferences in the state of Indiana. All eight member schools are consistently ranked among the top high schools in the state for academics and athletics.
The ICCL offers 14 varsity sports for its student-athletes to compete in: baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, soccer, softball, tennis, track & field (indoor and outdoor), volleyball (girls only), and water polo (boys only).

The Inner City Catholic League (ICCL) is a youth sports league that provides opportunities for inner city kids to participate in organized athletics. The league was founded in 2009 by a group of concerned citizens in South Bend, Indiana who wanted to give kids from underserved neighborhoods the chance to play sports and learn important life lessons.
Since its inception, the ICCL has served over 1,200 kids from South Bend and the surrounding communities. The league offers baseball, basketball, football, and track & field programs for boys and girls ages 5-18. Participation is free of charge, and all equipment and uniforms are provided.
The ICCL is more than just a sports league; itufffds a community-based organization that seeks to promote positive youth development through sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal responsibility. Our mission is to provide every child with an opportunity to grow physically, mentally, and emotionally through participation in our programs.
We believe that all children deserve the chance to succeed in life, regardless of their circumstances. By offering our programs free of charge and removing barriers to entry, we hope to level the playing field for all kids who want to participate.

Iccl Sports-Our History
The Inner City Catholic League (ICCL) is a high school athletic conference in the South Bend, Indiana area. The league consists of seven schools: four from the city of South Bend and three from surrounding towns.
The ICCL was founded in 1957 as the South Bend Catholic League. The league’s original members were Central, Holy Family, Notre Dame, Sacred Heart, and St. Joseph high schools. In its early years, the SBCL only sponsored basketball and track & field.
In 1963, the league expanded to include football and baseball, followed by cross country in 1967. By 1970, all seven current ICCL schools were members of the conference.
Throughout its history, the ICCL has been dominated by Notre Dame High School. The Titans have won over 70% of all championships since the league’s inception 57 years ago.

The ICCL is open to all kids in grades K-8 who live in the city of South Bend. There are no tryouts required ufffd all that is needed is a willingness to participate and have fun!
