In 2002, the channel was renamed Fox Sports Net South after News Corporation (now 21st Century Fox) acquired a majority stake in HSE. In 2004, the channel began broadcasting under the Fox Sports Net brand after News Corporation completed its acquisition of HSE.

In 2013, Liberty Media (now Altice USA) acquired a majority stake in Bally Sports Networks (then known as Fox Soccer Channel).
